The area is on a high plane at the confluence of two rivers and has therefore been prime real-estate throughout history. These are examples of homes built by the Creek Indians. Andrew Jackson had a fort built in this area in 1814 after defeating the Creek Indians, yet another sad chapter in the history of the United States.
