We were fortunate to be able to stay with family for a few days in Apache Junction. Their property is right next to the beautiful Superstition Mountains. We visited with them, went hiking, and to a few favorite spots in the Phoenix area.
A timelapse looking out from our family's home toward the Superstition Mountains. Arizona has the best skies!
A closer look at the mountain, from a hike at Lost Dutchman State Park.

A close call on the trail. Travis came inches from this guy before the rattle made him jump back and away. This was taken with a zoom lens camera.

More from the trails at Lost Dutchman.

Last time we visited this area, we spent several hours at the Phoenix Musical Instrument Museum. They have over 10,000 instruments there and hundreds of individual videos showing many of them being played. We didn't get a chance to see everything before they closed last time, so got there early this time and spent the day.

We, of course, spent an evening at Organ Stop Pizza.
Lastly, a few pictures from the Riparian Preserve Water Ranch in Gilbert.
