Glenn (shown here with Heather) told us the story of that day. He was going through Times Square on his way to see his girlfriend in the Bronx when the end of the war was announced. The previously unknown nurse opened her arms to give him a hug and he responded with the famous kiss. A nearby photographer captured the moment. Unfortunately, Glenn had to head out to the Pacific a few days later and didn't even see the photo until nearly 20 years later.
