The preserved battlefields were the most interesting. Original trenches and barricades dug by British (with German support) and Colonial American (with French backing) such as these still remain. It was a privilege to stand where our nations independence was won, and we certainly gained new admiration for the French. For without their help, there may well have been a very different outcome.
